Two Track Meets Set for This Weekend

Many of the nation’s elite high school track and field athletes will compete Saturday at the 28th Arcadia/Foot Locker Invitational. Closer to home, more than 30 local teams will participate in the Tustin Relays beginning this afternoon.

Esperanza’s Kristy Kierulff, defending State high jump champion, and teammate Courtney Pugmire, The Times Orange County cross-country runner of the year, will compete in Arcadia’s elite evening session, which begins at 4 p.m. The morning session begins at 11 a.m.

The Tustin Relays, which started in 1959, begin today with the field events at 2:45 p.m. at Tustin High. Relays begin at 8:45 a.m. Saturday at Rancho Santiago College.
