COLLEGE SIGNINGS : Ton Changes Mind, Signs With Davidson
Los Alamitos’ Ali Ton, a member of The Times’ all-county basketball team, changed his mind this week and signed a letter of intent to attend Davidson (N.C.) College. The 6-foot point guard earlier had orally committed to Wyoming.
“I had second thoughts and talked to my parents about where to go to school,” Ton said Thursday. “They wanted me to go to Davidson because it’s one of the top academic schools in the country. Also, my sister (Zeynep) goes to Penn State and plans to attend graduate school in the east, so it would be easier for my parents to visit us.”
Ton, who received a full athletic scholarship, says he will major in economics.
