VAN NUYS : Valley College Plans Holocaust Seminar

Valley College in Van Nuys will hold a Holocaust Remembrance Seminar Wednesday in Monarch Hall.

The commemoration, sponsored by several campus organizations, will include speeches, film, poetry and a question-and-answer forum on the genocide that claimed 6 million lives in the late 1930s until the end of World War II.

The event is free and aimed at creating continued awareness about the Holocaust and the pain it created. The first part of the seminar will run from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and then break until an evening program, scheduled to begin at 6:30.

After the ceremony at 7 p.m., the movie “Schindler’s List,” an acclaimed portrayal of the horror of the Nazi concentration camps, will be shown. A $2 donation is requested for the film.
