Valleywide : Council Delays Action on Ventura Blvd. Plan

Share

The Los Angeles City Council has postponed consideration of a proposal to change the way a master plan for Ventura Boulevard is funded until July 11.

The issue was delayed at the request of Reznik & Reznik, a law firm representing a group of Ventura Boulevard developers. The lawyers said they needed more time to review a counterproposal from planning aides to three City Council members.

The Ventura Boulevard Specific Plan is a 20-year, $222-million plan to add improvements to the boulevard, including widening, parking and landscaping. However, a budget inflated by a huge math error and other problems resulted in overcharges to developers, who were to pay for the lion’s share of the plan’s improvements.
