GOINGS ON : Patriotic Events to Fill Santa Barbara on July 4 : A block party, art show, live music, barbecue, parade, fireworks and more planned for the city’s holiday celebration.

If you’re looking for Fourth of July activities, just about everywhere you turn in Santa Barbara on Tuesday, you’ll find something patriotic taking place.

Here’s a sampling:

* About 150 Santa Barbara artists and craftspeople will display their wares at the 29th annual Old Mission Art Festival, sponsored by St. Barbara’s Pastoral Council. There will be live music throughout the day. The festival runs from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. The mission is at Laguna and Los Olivos streets. Admission is free. Call 965-4314.

* What’s July 4 without a red, white and blue parade. Santa Barbara’s Spirit of ’76 version will travel along Cabrillo Boulevard, between Milpas and Castillo streets, beginning at 3 p.m.

* If you’re looking for something old-fashioned for the Fourth, you may want to check out the celebration at Stow House in Goleta. There will be a tractor parade, a Civil War re-enactment, an antique car display, hay wagon and fire engine rides, a barbecue, lemonade and plenty of live music. A blacksmith will be on hand, and museums on the grounds will be open. Admission is $2 for adults, and free for children under 12. Festivities will run from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Stow House is at 304 Los Carneros Road.

* The Santa Barbara Jaycees and the Greater Eastside Merchants will present a Custom Classic Car Show at Chase Palm Park at East Beach in Santa Barbara. The car show, with about 200 participants, will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., with live music from 11 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Food booths will be open throughout the day. Admission is free. * Patriotic compositions and show tunes will be on tap when the Santa Barbara Symphony presents a pops concert at 5 p.m. at the Santa Barbara Courthouse Sunken Gardens. Admission is free. The Courthouse is at 1120 Anacapa St.

* SPARKLE, the nonprofit group of volunteers dedicated to organizing Fourth of July activities in Santa Barbara, will host a block party on West Cabrillo Boulevard from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Look for plenty of food and vendor booths.

* And yes, there will also be a fireworks spectacular, sponsored by SPARKLE. The show will begin at about 9 p.m. along the waterfront at Stearns Wharf. The best place for viewing the pyrotechnics is said to be along West Beach.

Santa Barbara’s 58th annual Semana Nautica amateur summer sports festival will get under way tonight with an art show and reception at the Cabrillo Pavilion at 6. There will be live music and food. Admission is free. Semana Nautica features a wide range of sporting events at venues throughout Santa Barbara and in Carpinteria, Saturday through July 9. There will be swimming, softball, running, water polo, racquetball, volleyball, triathlon, canoeing and other competitions. All events are free for spectators.
