3 L.A. County Teachers Gain Prestigious National Honor
Three Los Angeles County teachers are among 90 nationwide who passed rigorous tests to earn national board certification as English teachers.
L. Chana Boyko of Parras Middle School in Redondo Beach, Myra LeBendig of Foshay Learning Center in Los Angeles and Elizabeth Anne Rose of La Canada High School in La Canada Flintridge earned the voluntary distinction by successfully completing 150 hours of tests and exercises, including interviews and videotaped documentation of their teaching styles, offered by the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards.
In all, 21 California teachers were certified.
