THOUSAND OAKS : Frields Named to County Commission
Former Thousand Oaks Planning Commissioner Forrest Frields was appointed Tuesday to Ventura County’s planning board.
The Board of Supervisors unanimously approved Frields’ nomination to the five-member board, which reviews major development projects proposed for unincorporated areas of the county. The term is for four years.
Frields, 52, served on the Thousand Oaks Planning Commission for 4 1/2 years before stepping down in July. He was hailed by his colleagues on the panel for his evenhanded approach on contentious development issues.
Supervisor Frank Schillo, whose district includes Thousand Oaks, nominated Frields for the county commission.
