STANTON : Panel to Study Mobile Home Park Conditions

Share

After two years of disputes between the owner and tenants of Katella Mobile Home Estates, the City Council on Tuesday appointed members to a panel to observe the park and study its problems. Tenants have complained of unfair rent increases and poor conditions.

“I just want the committee to be fair,” said Ginger Jordan, a two-year Katella tenant. “I’m hoping the committee will do something to help the tenants.”

The committee will meet on the third Tuesdays for six months, then report its findings to the City Council.

“We hope we can get some recommendations and suggestions from the committee on how to improve the relationship between the owner and the tenants and how to improve the conditions,” Councilman Sal Sapien said.

The seven members of the panel are Gerard J. Dougher Jr., owner of Anaheim Mobile Estates; Lisa K. Davis, Rancho 39 Mobile Park’s manager; Linda Rae Barnett and Jasmine Jackson, tenants at Katella Estates; Joan Thomas, chairwoman of the city’s Community Services Commission; Charles J. Ponti, a local business owner, and Nora McKie, a Stanton resident.
