Titan Freshman Forward Montonati Leaves Team, Returns to Michigan
Freshman basketball player Brian Montonati has dropped out of Cal State Fullerton and returned home to Michigan, Coach Bob Hawking said Thursday.
“It was a matter of him being homesick,” Hawking said. “He was on the campus for about 10 days, and decided that he wanted to be back closer to his family. We’ve given him his release, so he’ll be able to do whatever he wants to do.”
Montonati, a 6-9 forward, averaged 23 points and 14 rebounds as a senior at Orchard View High in Muskegon, Mich.
“We’ll hold the scholarship and have it to use next year,” Hawking said.
