LAGUNA NIGUEL : Bates to Serve 1-Year Term as Mayor
For the second time in six years, Patricia C. Bates has been chosen for a one-year term as mayor. Councilwoman Janet Godfrey was named mayor pro tem.
Mark Goodman, who served as mayor this year, said in his farewell speech that the city moves into the new year with plans for a number of improvements, including a roller hockey and skateboard park, new ball fields, an expanded city park and a partnership with Mission Viejo for a new animal shelter.
