Man, 70, Killed in 4-Vehicle Accident
A 70-year-old Ventura man died Tuesday when his pickup truck was involved in a four-vehicle accident in Moorpark, authorities said.
Edward Cannon was pronounced dead at 5:51 p.m. at Los Robles Regional Medical Center in Thousand Oaks, Ventura County Sheriff’s Senior Deputy Larry Logan said.
The 5 p.m. accident on Los Angeles Avenue near Moorpark Avenue occurred when Leticia Alvarado, 25, of Moorpark was driving east on Los Angeles Avenue and entered the westbound lane, Logan said.
Alvarado’s vehicle collided with the pickup driven by Cannon, pushing Cannon’s truck into a tractor-trailer driven by Robert Witt, 30, of Chandler, Ariz., who was also traveling westbound.
A westbound car traveling behind Cannon’s pickup and driven by David Blackler, 43, of Ventura then struck Alvarado’s vehicle, which had overturned.
Alvarado, Witt and Blackler had either minor or no injuries.
