SEASON AT A GLANCE: James is the undisputed leader of a team that won all eight of its Alpha League games by at least 24 points. Despite sitting out the fourth quarter of every league game, James is averaging 21 points, fourth-best in the region. Village Christian (19-7) has not lost a league game in James’ four years on the varsity. James also is among regional leaders with averages of six steals, five assists and 2.5 blocked shots. Seven rebounds a game isn’t bad for a 5-foot-9 guard, either.

WEEK AT A GLANCE: James made eight of nine three-point shots, grabbed eight rebounds, had five steals and blocked three shots as Village Christian defeated Orange Lutheran, 80-43. She followed that 37-point effort by scoring 19 points--making 12 consecutive free throws in the second half--in a 50-48 victory over Bell-Jeff on Saturday.
