Police to Wait Tables for Local Fund-Raiser
If you have ever wanted to order a cop around, now is your chance.
Officers from across the county will volunteer as waiters at four restaurants to earn money for the Ventura County Special Olympics.
Presumably the police will do a decent job of waiting tables and will be tipped for their efforts. Those tips will be donated to the county’s Special Olympics.
The Tip-a-Cop program will take place at Geppetto’s in Thousand Oaks on Thursday, Hudson’s Grill in Simi Valley on June 3, Yolie’s in Ventura on June 4 and Oxnard’s Red Lobster on June 12.
In addition to police officers and deputies, prosecutors and corrections officers will also take orders and carry trays of food and dirty dishes.
Organizers recommend that diners make reservations those nights at the restaurants.
