Antelope Valley Christian 64, South Bay Lutheran 18--John Story rushed for 136 yards and three touchdowns in 12 carries, and also had a 65-yard kickoff return for a touchdown as the Eagles (2-0) won a nonleague eight-man game at South Bay Lutheran.

Shannon Byrne added 161 yards and two touchdowns in 27 carries. The Eagles had 446 yards in offense.

In late Friday games:

St. Monica 45, Santa Clara 14--Mike Moon rushed for 148 yards in 18 carries and two touchdowns, but the Saints (0-2) fell behind the Mariners (1-1) by 38-0 at halftime at St. Bernard High.

Paraclete 34, Serrano 6--Sal Iabichella rushed for 120 yards in 19 carries and had a 25-yard touchdown run to lead the Spirits (1-1) over the Diamondbacks (0-2) in a nonleague game at Antelope Valley College.

Montclair Prep 40, Daniel Murphy 14--Robert Bowens, Kevin Bentley and Carlease Clark each rushed for more than 100 yards and two touchdowns as the Mounties (2-0) came from behind in the nonleague victory over the Nobles (0-2) at Valley College.
