Highland 24, Burroughs Ridgecrest 22--With Highland (4-2) trailing, 14-6, in the third quarter, quarterback Camy Smith passed for two touchdowns and Will Demps returned an interception 17 yards for a touchdown.
Both touchdowns came after the Burros (0-5) fumbled in their own territory. Smith connected with Demps from four yards, then found Brian Floyd from four yards out to give the Bulldogs the lead, 18-14.
Smith completed 13 of 23 passes for 131 yards with two interceptions. Demps caught five passes for 58 yards and rushed eight times for 71 yards.
Burroughs running back Camron Chancey rushed 27 times for 207 yards, including a 12-yard touchdown.
