Leon Wood Joins Officiating Team
Former Cal State Fullerton basketball star Leon Wood has been chosen to be an NBA referee this coming season. He was selected from eight officials who worked exhibition games, filling a vacancy created by a retirement, an NBA spokesman said.
Wood, 34, played six years in the NBA after his career with the Titans ended. He was a first-round draft choice by Philadelphia after setting Fullerton season and career scoring records.
Wood was a replacement official last year during the dispute between the referees’ union and NBA owners. He was a CBA referee the rest of the season.
