A Trip Through the World of Dr. Seuss
The wacky characters of Dr. Seuss’ legendary children’s books come to life Friday for a two-year run at the Children’s Museum of Manhattan in New York.
The interactive exhibit, called “Seuss!,” lets children travel on an undulating roadway, steer the boat in “Green Eggs and Ham” and climb into the clean-up machine from “Cat in the Hat,” among other activities. Rhyme-making games are designed to hone reading skills, and there is a gallery of biographical information on Dr. Seuss, the pen name of Theodor S. Geisel. Visitors can also participate in a Seuss-oriented CD-ROM at a media center.
The museum will be open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily from Friday through Feb. 23; then it will be open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesdays through Sundays and on public school holidays. Admission is $5 for adults and children, $2.50 for seniors. Information: (212) 721-1223.
