Della K. Harmon; Specialized in Painting China
Della Krause Harmon, 89, an artist who taught classes in painting china. A former resident of Maryland, Harmon moved to California in 1948 and began painting china in a recreation program. She studied privately with china painter and water colorist Effie Deeter and with Spanish artist Miguel Jimenez. Harmon taught china painting for 15 years in Monrovia recreation and adult education programs, and gave seminars across the United States. She also taught many students at her home in Arcadia, where she lived for 49 years. Harmon helped organize and was president of the China Painters of San Gabriel, which is affiliated with the World Organization of China Painters. The artist also was active in the Mid Valley Arts League, China Painters of San Gabriel Valley, the Porcelain Art Organization and the California China Painting Teachers Assn. On April 11 in Baltimore.
