Volunteers Needed for Housing Projects

Share

Habitat for Humanity is seeking volunteers to help with housing it plans to build this year in Piru.

Habitat of Ventura County plans to begin building a house in mid-May for a single mother and her two children, whose home was severely damaged in the 1994 Northridge earthquake. The nonprofit organization also is in the final stages of planning an ambitious 19- to 21-home subdivision on a 4.5-acre site in Piru.

An orientation session for prospective volunteers is scheduled for 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Piru Community Center, 802 N. Orchard St. Both unskilled and skilled workers are needed.
