European Dogs, Smoking Habits
Re “Train Dog Owners,” Letters, April 7: I just returned from Paris, Brussels and Amsterdam. I missed many of the great sights in Paris and Brussels due to the droppings on the sidewalks and streets. People there made no effort to even have their dogs go in an out-of-the-way place. Amsterdam was the cleanest of the cities.
And who wants to go to a nice restaurant with a smelly dog under your feet? The smoke is bad enough. They not only pamper their dogs, they smoke like fiends.
