Hoover Sweeps Into Final

Mark Hull missed 19 shots, but still scored 30 points and Hoover High beat Burroughs, 65-54, in the semifinals of the Hoover-Burbank tournament Thursday night.

The Tornadoes (2-0) will play Crescenta Valley tonight at 8 in the final.

Hull, a 6-foot-6 All-Pacific League forward who made 10 of 29 shots, had 12 rebounds.

Jeremy Cartee had 15 points and 12 rebounds for Burroughs (1-1).

Harvard-Westlake 80, Moorpark 69--Russell Lakey had 24 points, six assists and six steals for the Wolverines (2-0), and Victor Munoz contributed 15 points at Harvard-Westlake.

Keith Donahue hit five three-pointers and had 25 points for the Musketeers (1-1).

Littlerock 62, South Pasadena 59--The Lobos (1-2) trailed, 44-33, but switched to a full-court press in the fourth quarter and outscored the Tigers, 29-15, in the the Nordhoff tournament.

Travis Williams had 10 of his 18 points in the fourth quarter for Littlerock.

Channel Islands 88, Paraclete 40--Franklin McKeeson and Dwight Sattiewhite each had 15 points for the Raiders (1-0) in the opening round of the Nordhoff tournament.

Daniel Eppink had 13 points for the Spirits (0-1).

St. Bonaventure 75, Oakwood 25--The Seraphs (2-0) scored the first 10 points of the game and were never challenged in the first round of the Providence tournament.

Freshman Brandon Duplessie, a 6-6 center, had 12 points, 13 rebounds and 11 blocked shots for the Seraphs. He has 24 blocked shots in two games.

Michael Emard had 21 points and 13 rebounds for St. Bonaventure, and Patrick Devericks added 13 points.

Fillmore 58, Hueneme 52--The Vikings pulled to within three points with 40 seconds to play but the Flashes held on in the first round of the Nordhoff tournament.

Jesus Jasso had 15 points and Gabe Enriquez added 13 for Fillmore (1-1), which went on a 14-0 run at the end of the third quarter.

Johnie Williams had 17 points for Hueneme.

GIRLS

Crescenta Valley 74, Canyon 48--Michelle Greco and Sinnamonn Garrett each scored 17 points for the Falcons (2-0), ranked first in the region by The Times in a nonleague game at Canyon (1-2).

Royal 76, San Dimas 61--Alicia Weber scored 16 points, including three three-pointers, and had 11 assists for the Highlanders (1-1) in the Monrovia tournament.

Kristen Galbreath scored 16 points for Royal, and Jessica Sanders had 12.

Buckley 42, Malibu 34--Baha Malecki scored 19 points and had seven assists for the Griffins (2-0) in a semifinal victory at the Buckley tournament.

Oakwood 35, Montclair Prep 34--The Mounties’ comeback effort fell short despite Laura Power’s 16 points and 17 rebounds in a Buckley tournament consolation game.

Sarah Poster had 13 for the Gorillas (1-1).

Valencia 69, Lancaster Bethel Christian 23--Kelly Warden scored 12 points for the Vikings (2-0) in the first round at the Paraclete tournament.

Highland 66, Aquinas 21--Tori Colby and Tiffany Winkfield each scored 12 points for the Bulldogs (1-1) in the Paraclete tournament.

Oakwood 35, Montclair Prep 34--Stephanie Glucksman scored 13 points and Sara Poster added eight for the Gorillas (1-1) at the Buckley tournament.

Laura Power had 16 points for Montclair Prep (0-2).

Louisville 75, Bishop Diego 36--Megan Wiser scored 18 points for the Royals (2-0) in the first round of the Fillmore tournament.

Taft 62, Marshall 60--Tynisha Howze had 21 points, 10 rebounds and six assists and the Toreadors won in overtime at the Eagle Rock tournament.

Lisa Hawkins scored 18 points for Taft (2-1).
