City Pools Offer No-Fee Swimming

Share

During the dog days of summer, Los Angeles city pools will open their doors to people who might not otherwise be able to afford a swim.

Throughout the month of August, children and adults may swim free for a few hours at one of 14 participating city pools.

The dates and hours of the special Fun Days vary from pool to pool. One pool will participate each day, enabling those who miss the event at one facility to attend another in the area soon afterward, officials said.

Regular pool admission is $1.25 for adults and 75 cents for children.

The pools are located in Canoga Park, Granada Hills, North Hollywood, Northridge, Pacoima, Reseda, Sherman Oaks, Sun Valley, Sylmar and Woodland Hills.

All but the one at Cleveland High School in Reseda are on city park grounds.

For days and times, call the pools directly or contact the city’s regional aquatics office at (818) 765-0284.
