‘Dancing’ Out of Arrowhead
Actor PATRICK SWAYZE and his wife, dancer LISA NIEMI, have sold their Lake Arrowhead home for about $2 million, sources say.
The couple, who maintain a permanent residence in the Los Angeles area, decided to sell their Arrowhead getaway and buy a small ranch in another state, sources said.
In August, Swayze, 45, celebrated the 10th anniversary of his hit movie “Dirty Dancing” by receiving a star on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame. The movie was re-released in 25 cities.
This month Swayze is returning to the set of “Letters From a Killer,” which was put on hold in May after he broke bones in both legs when he was thrown off a horse during filming. Swayze has starred in a number of films, including “Ghost” (1990), co-starring Demi Moore.
The Arrowhead home, which was purchased by a family from Newport Beach, has five bedroom suites, including a master with a steam-sauna room and gym.
The 5,000-square-foot house also has an office, family room with a large deck and living room with a floor-to-ceiling stone fireplace. Some of the ceilings are 30 feet high.
There is a trail leading to the edge of the lake and a gated dock. The property also has a two-car garage, a separate building for extra cars or boats and limousine parking.
Glenn Wehrle of Lynne B. Wilson & Associates at Lake Arrowhead had the listing. Wilson also maintains an office at Celebrity Properties in Beverly Hills.

Actress SHARON GLESS and her husband, producer BARNEY ROSENZWEIG, have sold their Malibu home for $2.9 million, sources say.
Gless, who appeared at the Gielgud Theater in London last summer in Neil Simon’s “Chapter Two,” won two Emmy Awards for her work as Det. Christine Cagney in the CBS series “Cagney & Lacey.” Rosenzweig was executive producer of the show, which aired from 1982 to 1988, and he also produced “The Trials of Rosie O’Neill,” starring Gless, from 1989 to 1992.
Last year, the couple bought a condo on Fisher Island, off the coast of Miami, but they said then that they would maintain an apartment in Hollywood. Gless, 54, is a fifth-generation Californian and has no plans to desert her home state, she has said.
The Malibu home, a five-bedroom Cape Cod-style compound including two guest houses and a main residence on nearly an acre, was sold to a 35-year-old software marketer.

Singer-songwriter DANNY ELFMAN, one of the most popular film composers of the ‘90s, has purchased a second home on six acres in Santa Barbara for a bit more than $2 million, sources say. He maintains a permanent residence, where he has recording and screening facilities, in the Los Angeles area.
Elfman, 44, one of the founders of the rock band Oingo Boingo, has created scores for such Tim Burton-directed movies as “Beetlejuice” (1988), “Batman” (1989), “Edward Scissorhands” (1990), “Batman Returns” (1992), “The Nightmare Before Christmas” (1993) and “Mars Attacks!” (1996). Elfman also composed the music for “Dick Tracy” (1990), “Sommersby” (1993) and this year’s “Men in Black.”
He composed the theme for TV’s “The Simpsons” and for the Nissan Motor Corp. commercials airing this year.
He bought a 5,000-square-foot house in the gated 2,000-acre, 600-plus-home community of Hope Ranch, sources say. Hope Ranch has a golf course and a private beach.
Elfman bought his property through probate court, reportedly bidding more than the $2-million asking price. The six-acre site, next door to a six-acre parcel owned by the Saudi royal family, includes an ocean view and a nine-room, 5,000-square-foot house, built in 1915.

Cincinnati Reds first baseman EDUARDO PEREZ has purchased a vacation home in Calabasas Park.
The 27-year-old ballplayer bought a three-bedroom lakeside home, built in 1974 but totally updated, for about $450,000.
Perez and Allyson Gottfried, his fiancee, plan to use the 2,700-square-foot home as a getaway from his primary residence in Cincinnati, sources said.
Bonnie Oestreich of the Woodland Hills office of Fred Sands Realtors represented Perez in the purchase, and Karyn Foley of the Woodland Hills office of the Prudential-Jon Douglas Co. represented the sellers.

GEORGE PERRIN, chairman and founder of Dallas-based Paging Network Inc. (PageNet), and his wife, Dominique, have sold a 48,000-square-foot house they were building in Dallas for more than $12 million, sources say. The asking price was $15 million.
The selling price was a record for a single-family home in Dallas and perhaps in the entire state of Texas, sources said.
The house, on 10 acres with a lake, was 80% completed when it was sold to an investor from Asia, who plans to finish construction and put the home back on the market.
The Perrins are said to have decided to sell because after he had retired, at 47, from his company in 1993, he then returned to work and had no time for the house project. However, the couple recently bought two tracts of land in Texas for a total price of $7 million, sources say.
The home the Perrins sold has six bedroom suites, five staff apartments, a 14-car garage, indoor pool, gym, children’s arcade wing, basement and attic. The 17th century country French-style home also has a moat.
