‘Chungking Express’
Wong Kar-Wai’s 1996 film is as fresh as falling rain, a pair of love stories full of pain and humor. In one story a young policeman (Takeshi Kaneshiro) becomes intrigued with a mysterious woman (Brigitte Lin) wearing sunglasses, trench coat and a blond wig. In the second, the policeman tells us of a lively snack bar worker (Faye Wang, pictured), who becomes captivated with one of his colleagues (Tony Leung). Wong muses on the capricious of fate and emotions--of connections more missed than made (TMC Monday at 10:25 a.m.).
