Rhodes Expects to Be Fired

Ray Rhodes believes he is on his way out as coach of the Philadelphia Eagles. With the Eagles (3-11) in last place in the NFC East, Rhodes believes the team will make a coaching change at the end of the season and accepts his possible fate. “I had an opportunity here and didn’t get it done,” Rhodes said. “It’s time to move on.”

A tearful Dan Reeves, the coach of the Atlanta Falcons, left a hospital Friday, four days after quadruple bypass surgery, and called his recovery a miracle. Reeves, 54, is expected to return to the team in time for the playoffs. . . . Only three weeks after returning from a broken leg, running back Dorsey Levens will start Sunday when the Green Bay Packers play the Tennessee Oilers. . . . New England quarterback Drew Bledsoe said his season may be over because of his broken right index finger. He has already been ruled out of Sunday’s game against San Francisco. The Patriots also put wide receiver Terry Glenn on injured reserve and signed linebacker Dana Cottrell from the practice squad. Glenn is out for the season after breaking an ankle Sunday at St. Louis. . . . Detroit Lion quarterback Charlie Batch did not practice Friday and probably will not play Sunday against Atlanta, Coach Bobby Ross said. . . . The Buffalo Bills will remain in Orchard Park, N.Y., through 2012 after team and New York officials signed a lease agreement.
