Assessment District Up for Approval
A public hearing will be held Monday over a proposed assessment district that would raise $870,000 for road work at the entrance of the Los Alamitos Racetrack and at neighboring businesses.
If approved, the Cypress Business and Professional Center Assessment District would allow for street, sidewalk, sewer and other improvements in the track area, at Walker Street and Katella Avenue. The district would raise the money with an assessment to the area business owners.
All affected property owners must vote on whether they approve the proposed assessments. Vote results will be announced Jan. 26 when the City Council is expected to make a final decision.
