Man’s Slaying Believed to Be Gang-Related
The shooting death of a 21-year-old man in East Los Angeles Tuesday night was probably gang-related, a sheriff’s spokesman said Wednesday.
Two suspects walked up to Alex Perez on the 6100 block of East Olympic Boulevard about 9 p.m. Tuesday and became involved in a heated argument with him. One man pulled out a handgun and fatally shot Perez in the upper body, sheriff’s Deputy Michael Irving said.
Perez was taken to Los Angeles County-USC Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
Irving said no motive or suspects have been found.
