Book Signing Will Reunite Key Figures in Huber Case

Share

The author of a new book about one of Orange County’s most notorious murders will be reunited with many of those involved in the case--including the parents of victim Denise Huber and the man who prosecuted her killer--at a book signing tonight.

Author Don Lasseter will sign copies of “Cold Storage,” which details the 1991 disappearance of the 23-year-old Huber, the shocking discovery of her nude and bludgeoned body preserved inside a locked freezer in 1994, and the dramatic trial of John J. Famalaro, the man convicted last year of killing her.

Dennis and Ione Huber, who spearheaded a high-profile search for their daughter during the years she was missing, became friends with Lasseter during the trial of Famalaro, who was eventually sentenced to death. The Hubers have supported the book although they have voiced some displeasure over its title.

Also present at the book signing will be Costa Mesa Police Chief David Snowden, who supervised the investigation into Huber’s disappearance and frequently met with the Huber family during the years of their search.

The book signing will begin at 7 p.m. at Barnes and Noble bookstore in the Metro Pointe shopping center, 901-B South Coast Drive.
