Teens Sought for City’s Youth Council

Simi Valley teens are invited to apply for positions on the city’s Youth Council, which advises city officials and elected representatives on issues concerning young adults.

Youths 13 to 19 are encouraged to apply for the positions, which will run for one year beginning Nov. 1.

The council, made up of 24 representatives from local middle and high schools, both public and private, meets for about an hour on the first and third Tuesdays of each month beginning at 5 p.m.

The Youth Council is an official advisory board appointed by the City Council that gives local young people a voice in city government.

Applications are available at City Hall and the library, both at 2929 Tapo Canyon Road, and at all middle and high schools.

Deadline is 5 p.m. Sept. 25.
