The Ducks also play the Kings at the Forum on Tuesday, then play host to the Colorado Avalanche on Wednesday.

“The week [of practice] is over,” Coach Craig Hartsburg said. “Now, we finally get to play some games and learn something about ourselves.”

Hartsburg plans to make his first round of roster cuts by the end of the weekend.

The highlight of Friday’s scrimmage was triggered by an open-ice check by defenseman Jamie Pushor on center Travis Green. Opposing center Steve Rucchin pounced on the puck when Green lost control, then whistled a shot from the slot past goaltender Guy Hebert. Green’s team tied Rucchin’s team, 2-2.

Here’s the latest news on defenseman Fredrik Olausson, sidelined by an enlarged spleen:

The Ducks still have no clue why Olausson’s spleen is enlarged, although they hope to have the results of a battery of tests by this weekend.

Olausson, signed to a two-year, $2-million deal this summer, has not been cleared to practice with the team.
