City to Conduct Survey of Cable Subscribers

Share

City officials are planning to survey cable subscribers before considering whether to renew the city’s cable franchise agreement with Charter Communications.

The City Council has approved the survey after complaints about service. The current agreement expires in February.

The city earns $350,000 a year in franchise fees fees.

Earlier this year, attorneys for the city got the Federal Communication Commission to rule that the cable company incorrectly increased rates. The ruling could eventually produce rebates for customers.
