Nate Fikse
Esperanza, Sr.; Football/Kicker
Fikse boomed a school-record 56-yard field goal in the Aztecs’ 44-6 victory over Rancho Alamitos Friday night. Fikse’s kick was two yards short of the county record, set last year by Mission Viejo’s Nick Gilliam. Fikse, a member of the under-16 regional soccer team, is being recruited for football and soccer.

* Mater Dei, sophomore. Scored a school-record 11 goals in a 22-19 loss to Huntington Beach.
Josiah Doby/Football/Running back
* Los Alamitos, Sr. Scored a school-record six touchdowns and rushed for 214 yards in the Griffins’ 65-28 victory over Dana Hills.
Alfonso Leon/Cross-Country
* Santa Ana, senior. Won the Division I senior race at the Woodbridge Invitational with a time of 14 minutes 14 seconds.
