Spotlight: Air Products Plans to Build Hydrogen Plant in Carson
Air Products & Chemicals Inc. of Allentown, Pa., said it will build an $80-million hydrogen plant in Carson as the second-largest U.S. industrial gas supplier expands its hydrogen distribution. Construction of the plant is scheduled to begin soon and should be operating by early 2000. The plant’s hydrogen will be used to convert heavy crude oil into fuels. Air Products said it will connect the plant to its Los Angeles basin pipeline and supply hydrogen to area refineries.
