Seniors Can Still Register for Games
Friday is the deadline to register for the 14th annual Gold Coast Senior Games, which run Oct. 3 to 17.
The events, which will be held at various locations around the county, are for people 50 and older and include basketball, billiards, bowling, bridge, golf, horseshoes, lawn bowling, shuffleboard, softball, swimming, table tennis, tennis and track and field events.
A free reception from 5 to 7 p.m. Oct. 2 at Ventura City Hall will kick off the games.
The Senior Games drew more than 600 competitors last year.
Registration is $12, which includes a Senior Games T-shirt. Participants pay an additional fee for each sport.
