DMD Establishes Internet Marketing Subsidiary

Dental/Medical Diagnostic Systems in Westlake Village, which manufactures high-technology dental equipment and related products, has formed a subsidiary to market its products on the Internet.

Dentists will be able to purchase DMD’s tooth-whitening and composite curing products in addition to other dental-related hardware and software products through the subsidiary, DMDcorp.com Inc.

The company’s Web site will also include updates on seminars and dental shows and information that allows dentists to obtain continuing education credits online. Dentists in similar geographical regions will be able to earn group discounts on purchases of the company’s products, DMD officials said.

Non-dentist consumers will be offered products relating to oral hygiene and tooth whitening, specifically DMD’s Apollo 95E tooth-whitening home-application kit.

“We believe that there are significant opportunities that are best explored through a separate Internet-focused subsidiary,” said Robert H. Gurevitch, chairman and chief executive of Dental/Medical Diagnostic. “Not only do we hope to expand our global reach to dentists, but we believe we can now access the extensive non-dentist consumer base interested in healthy oral hygiene.”
