SEAL BEACH
The city will receive $1.1 million in grant money from this year’s state budget. The money is the largest state grant in the city’s history. Of the total, $650,000 will be used to construct a bicycle trail, which will improve safety for bicyclists and pedestrians, City Manager Keith Till said. The projected route has been the missing link in a trail from the Santa Ana River to the San Gabriel River and thus has regional appeal, council member Shawn Boyd said. Construction will begin in the next few months.
