The City Council’s two-day strategic planning and goals-setting session last week resulted in five long-term objectives, said Mayor Sherri M. Butterfield: Maintain Mission Viejo as a safe community; preserve its residential character; provide sound city government with quality services, facilities and infrastructure; maintain the ambience of the city’s landscaping, buildings and neighborhood feel; and encourage a strong local economy that provides retail and service business to ensure an expanding tax base. Topping the prioritized issues list is whether the city should build a City Hall.
