From Times Wire Reports

Three dozen rare and endangered sea turtles, among nearly 100 swept ashore in Massachusetts this week, have been flown by the Coast Guard to rehabilitation centers in Florida, said a marine biologist in Sarasota. At least seven turtles died after becoming stranded on Massachusetts’ Cape Cod earlier this week. The loggerhead, green and Kemps-Ridley sea turtles--all threatened or endangered species--were suffering from hypothermia when they were found, said Jerris Foote, senior biologist at Mote Marine Laboratory’s sea turtle conservation program.
