Carpinteria 28, Fillmore 6--Quarterback Paul Hernandez carried 23 times for 99 yards and a touchdown and Jesse Trembly had 78 yards in 13 carries and two touchdowns for the Warriors at Carpinteria.
Carpinteria (6-1, 2-0) put the game away late in the third quarter when Aaron Crouse scored on the second play after Fillmore’s Johnny Uribe fumbled at the Flashes’ seven-yard line. The conversion kick made it 21-0.
Quarterback Kyle McDowell of Fillmore (3-4, 0-1) completed four of 10 passes for 65 yards with two interceptions. McDowell scored the only touchdown for Fillmore on a 93-yard kickoff return in the fourth quarter.
Ted Chewning led Fillmore with 52 yards rushing in 15 carries.
