Ice Dogs Win in Shootout
Marcel Cousineau stopped all four shots he faced in the Ice Dogs’ first shootout of the IHL season as they slipped past the Kansas City Blades, 3-2, before 4,843 at Kemper Arena.
Cousineau, who made 39 saves in the game, improved to 5-1-0, while the Ice Dogs (5-4-0) picked up their fourth victory in five games.
Wes Walz and Len Barrie both scored in the shootout for the Ice Dogs, who improved to 2-1-0 on the road. Frederick Jobin and Nils Ekman each scored goals in the third period for the Ice Dogs.
Dave Chyzowski tied the contest at 2-2 with less than three minutes remaining for Kansas City (1-3-2).
