No Wannabe

In his review of “Brian Evans--Live at the Desert Inn,” Don Heckman compares every singer who likes to sing standards with Frank Sinatra (“Sinatra Still a Force to Reckon With,” Oct. 3).

My album was and is a celebration of that musical era, not of Frank Sinatra music. In fact, half the album contains songs never recorded by Frank.

Don’t get me wrong, I am a fan of Sinatra music, just like the next guy (who isn’t?), and meeting him was the highlight of my entertainment career, but I’m not Frank, and I never wanted to be.

Also, I am not Canadian. I was born in Boston.
