Rancho Santiago Community College District conferred more associate degrees than any other two-year institution in the state for the 1996-97 academic year, it was reported.

With a total of 1,410 graduates, the district ranks 33rd in the nation among the top 100 degree-producing community colleges for 1996-97, according to Community College Week.

The figures are based on data compiled by the U.S. Department of Education. The district also ranks among the top 10 in the country in presenting associate degrees to all ethnicities, including Latinos and Asian Americans.
