Community Groups Plan Anti-Gang Rally
Several community groups will gather Saturday at the Reseda Recreation Center for a rally against gangs.
Twenty organizations will have booths at the rally, said Jane O. Clubb, an event planner.
“It’s for young people to see alternatives in the community to be involved with,” Clubb said.
The third annual event will coincide with an open house at the recreation center. Los Angeles police officers, U. S. Air Force recruiters and Los Angeles firefighters--who will demonstrate firefighting techniques--will also attend, along with a number of public officials.
The event was organized by the West Valley Community Police Advisory Board’s Teens Against Gangs Committee and the Los Angeles Police Department.
Hot dogs will be served, and dancers, clowns and a magician will provide entertainment.
Saturday’s rally runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 18411 Victory Blvd.
