AMDL Inc., a Tustin developer of tests for early detection of cancer and other diseases, said Wednesday that it has received a $2.4-million order for its DR-70 cancer test from Taiwan company.

AMDL said in a press release that the Chinese Universal Technology Co. Ltd. will use the tests in Taiwan and Hong Kong.

The DR-70, which has undergone clinical trials in five nations, can detect up to 13 cancers at the same time. The test was recently made available to physicians and laboratories in the United States under a U.S. Food and Drug Administration research exemption.
