Groups Contribute to High School Choruses

* Two area barbershop groups and the Sweet Adelines Agoura Hills Harmony chorus donated funds raised at a recent performance to area high schools in support of choral programs. The following schools each received $750: Buena High School in Ventura, Westlake High School, Oxnard High School, Royal High School in Simi Valley, Thousand Oaks High School, Newbury Park High School and Adolfo Camarillo High School.

The barbershop groups were the Ventura-Channel Islands Clippers and the Conejo Valley Harmony Oaks Chorus, both chapters of the Society for the Preservation and Encouragement of Barbershop Quartet Singing in America.

Cabrillo Music Theatre Wins $5,500 Grant * Cabrillo Music Theatre received a $5,500 grant from the Ventura County Community Foundation. The money will be used to support specific elements of the theater group’s newly developed strategic plan. The theater group stages Broadway musicals at the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza’s Kavli Theatre.
