Train Kills Man Walking by Tracks
A man was killed when he was struck by a freight train in Yorba Linda early Sunday morning, police said.
The man, who remained unidentified late Sunday night, was walking west along the railroad tracks in the area near La Palma east of Mercado del Rio shortly before 9 a.m. when he was hit by the train, Brea Police Officer Chad Meyer said.
The tracks are not easily accessible from the road and there are no marked pedestrian crossings in the area, Meyer said.
The man was described as about 45 years old.
