Hossa Powers Senators to Tie With Islanders

Marian Hossa’s power-play goal with 3:24 left in regulation lifted the Ottawa Senators into a 2-2 tie with the New York Islanders and former teammate Alexei Yashin on Tuesday night at Uniondale, N.Y.

Yashin and linemate Mariusz Czerkawski each had a goal and an assist for the Islanders.

Toronto 6, Phoenix 3--Bryan McCabe had two goals and two assists for the Maple Leafs at Toronto.

Darcy Tucker had a goal and two assists for the Maple Leafs. McCabe, Tucker and Mats Sundin scored power-play goals for the Maple Leafs.

Michal Handzus scored twice for the Coyotes.

Pittsburgh 2, Washington 2--Johan Hedberg scrambled to make 32 saves, including two superb reflex stops in the final five minutes of regulation, for the Penguins at Washington.

Ulf Dahlen and Chris Simon scored for the Capitals.

San Jose 5, Edmonton 4--Brad Stuart scored with 52 seconds left in overtime at San Jose.

Jochen Hecht scored a power-play goal late in the second period to tie it for the Oilers.

Mike Ricci scored twice for the Sharks.
