Man, 4 Dogs Struck by Hit-and-Run Driver
A hit-and-run driver struck a man and his four dogs in Santa Ana on Saturday, killing a dog and slightly injuring the man.
The 42-year-old man, who police believe is a transient but did not identify, was treated at a hospital and released. The three surviving dogs were taken to the county Animal Control Department.
The accident occurred about 6 p.m. in the 3300 block of West Edinger Avenue as the man crossed the street with his dogs tied to a shopping cart, said Santa Ana Police Sgt. Ken Whitt.
The driver did not stop and is being sought by police, Whitt said.
