Moore Carries Mount Union
Chuck Moore ran for 273 yards and three touchdowns, and Mount Union won its sixth NCAA Division III title, defeating Bridgewater, 30-27, Saturday in the Stagg Bowl at Salem, Va.
The Purple Raiders (14-0) are the fourth team to win six national championships in their division. Oklahoma has seven and Alabama and Georgia Southern also have six.
Mount Union has won 82 of its last 83 games, including the six championships under Coach Larry Kehres. The Purple Raiders also won titles in 1993, 1996, 1997, 1998 and 2000.

Eric Emerson scored on a one-yard run with 8:24 to play and Furman (12-2) defeated two-time defending champion Georgia Southern, 24-17, in a Division I-AA football semifinal at Statesboro, Ga.
Montana 38, Northern Iowa 0--Yohance Humphery ran for 142 yards and two touchdowns in a I-AA semifinal at Missoula, Mont.
The Grizzlies (14-1) advanced to their second consecutive title game.

Georgetown College won its second consecutive NAIA championship, beating Sioux Falls, 49-27, at Savannah, Tenn.
The Tigers (14-0) extended their winning streak to 28.
Georgetown’s Ryan Payne ran for two touchdowns.
