UC Irvine 66, UC Santa Barbara 56--Sean Jackson scored 20 points to lift the visiting Anteaters to their 10th consecutive victory before 2,022.

Irvine, 14-2 overall and 6-0 in the Big West, is tied for first in the conference with Utah State. The Anteaters can equal a school record for most victories by defeating Cal Poly San Luis Obispo on Saturday.

The punchless Gauchos (5-11, 2-4) have lost four in a row, turning their usually boisterous home floor into the Thunder-less Dome. Santa Barbara made only 19 of 58 shots from the field and 12 of 23 free throws.

Guard Jerry Green, who has sparked Irvine’s impressive run, finished with 16 points. Guard Malachi Edmond had 10 rebounds and eight assists and Stanislav Zuzak scored 10 points and grabbed four rebounds.
